The annual 2023 Wilderness Vigil is scheduled for this July on Saltspring Island, in the Southern Gulf Island, one of the gems of the Salish Sea.
We can accept a maximum of six fasters and generally expect a mixed group of age, gender, and sexual orientation. We follow the rite-of-passage protocol established by Steven Foster and Meredith Little and others at the School of Lost Borders. We are committed to a fee structure that makes the ceremony affordable to as many as possible, setting a base rate to cover all expenses, after which we request Dana (grateful offering) as a form of gift exchange. This year our base cost is $675.00 Canadian.
