Wilderness Guides Council 2024 Gathering
October 11-16
Camp Indianola, Washington
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR THIS EVENT
Mark your calendars! Grab your tickets! You are warmly invited to the 2024 Wilderness Council Gathering being held at Camp Indianola on Puget Sound, in the territory of the suq̀wabš, People of Clear Salt Water (Suquamish People). Whether you are new to the WGC, have never been to a gathering, or are a long-time community member, we hope you’ll join us for this wild and beautiful gathering of guides, aspiring guides, and supporters of the work. Please note that the registration deadline is September 27th !
Camp Indianola has indoor lodging as well as plenty of space to camp; access to trails and beach; spaces for workshops and to meet indoor and out. Members of the Gathering Council who visited the camp could “see” us there, well held by water, land, and sky to do our good work, to rest, and connect. The camp is about an hour and a half from Seattle.
The Gathering Council has been dreaming and weaving together all the ideas, visions and possibilities for this gathering. Several themes have emerged: belonging to one another and the Earth; creativity and play; staying with the trouble; living into a new story; regeneration and incorporation; rest and renewal. There has been a strong call for connection with the land, the weaving of music, poetry, movement, play, and the wild.
A poem of inspiration co-created by the Gathering Council-
Singing together upstream
Big trouble, Cleansing water
Howling at the piano, Magic arrives
We surrender into the sacred heart
Rain flies up, Sun shines down
Laugher, Joy, Creativity
Orcas rising, Ancient voices
We need to be the grandparents the world has been dreaming of
It’s a balancing act, this tending the wild heart
Ceremony, Ceremony, Ceremony

–> Day Ticket Option, Sunday October 13th
Do you want to attend but cannot come to the entire gathering? We have just released a Day Ticket Option! This is a great way to connect and network with folks, as well as get a feel for the WGC. You are invited to arrive at 12:30pm on Sunday and to stay through the evening programming. This will include some all-community time to meet folks specifically from your region, workshops through the afternoon, dinner, and an evening open mic event – which is always a great time with this crew. This will also be a time to bring your brochures/cards/books that you can share with the community. Unfortunately we cannot provide camping/housing for you but the ferries do run late until the evening and we can also recommend camping nearby. Come check it out! We would love to meet you.
