DESCRIPTION:A four-day guided immersion on Sherkin Island’s north shore. \nAt the far edge of Sherkin Island\, where the Atlantic meets rock and sky\, there is a threshold of salt and stone\, a place that invites us to slow down\, arrive\, and be met. We return to an ancient rhythm\, where wind\, tide\, and breath find their own time. \nThrough gentle movement\, bare feet on sand and stone\, Atlantic swims\, dream tending\, and conversation with the island\, we slip into the deeper currents\, the underwaters of soul\, imagination\, and memory. The body begins to respond to what stirs beneath the surface. And what has long rested in the depths begins to be revealed\, and to come alive in us once more.

It nestles in the Nanmor valley\, surrounded by ancient woodland\, with views of Moel Ddu. It’s a safe and restful retreat base to be immersed in nature while preparing for your Vision Quest\nIncluded – is a well-equipped kitchen/dinning and a camp kitchen\nSeveral bedrooms to share\, Plus land for camping.\nWe move out to a base camp in the mountains for your solo time on the forth day\, then return to this lovely place for the final two days.\nThe group will live as a small community\, therefore you are asked to be responsible for yourselves. You provide your own food and cook for yourselves. (Closer to the start date we send the address list for you to plan meals together\, or alone.)\nThere is a very good local shop in the village a couple of miles away\nPorthmadog is the closest small town with a wider range of shops include a good health food store\, camping shops and a large supermarket with some organic food.\nCost – Sliding scale between – meaning a couple of scholarship places at the lesser fee – £1150 to £895 (non refundable & non-transferrable deposit of £250\, unless the vision quest is cancelled) This includes all accommodation and camping (in your own tent) and the welcome meal.

Here is an excerpt from my website about Embodied Animacy. \nThe principle of animism is a way of perceiving and engaging with a living and animate earth\, including all the seen and unseen beings that inhabit it. This alive connection emerges not through abstract thinking but through direct experience – rooted in our direct sensory experience – and a cultivation of reciprocal relationship. This is a participatory way of being\, where humans are just one among many expressive participants in the dynamic\, interconnected fabric of life. \nAnimism is a deeply\, relational way of being in the world\, encouraging us to remember that we are not separate from the natural world\, but are woven into the fabric of life itself. \nGene Gendlin’s Focusing method\, though often seen as a contemporary approach to self-awareness with its origins in psychotherapy and philosophy\, carries a similar invitation. On a very simple level Focusing is a somatic practice\, where we turn our attention inward\, tuning into the subtle\, unspoken language of our bodies. It is through this body-based listening that we find clarity and healing\, accessing wisdom beyond the reach of the mind alone. \nAt first glance\, these two paths might seem worlds apart—one rooted in ancient spiritual traditions\, the other in contemporary therapeutic practice. However\, a closer look reveals their shared essence: both call us to a profound\, deeper listening to life unfolding within and around us. \nSince 2019\, I’ve focused on creating practices that foster embodied relational reciprocity\, drawing on the Focusing method and nature connection. I integrate aspects of this work into the preparation stage for all our vision quests.
