SUMMARY:Autumn Vision Quest Eryri National Park\, North Wales. UK
DESCRIPTION:The Vision Quest is an ancient ceremony to mark and move on from one life transition to another. The ancients knew that by crossing these thresholds in wild places we face our fears\, see our life pass through and gather our medicine in order to move into the next phase of life.\n“Nature mirrors all that we are; it shows us the many faces of dark and light”\nOur base is a lovingly restored Barn using natural materials and although ancient\, the barn has a modern feel of space and beauty. It nestles in the Nanmor valley\, surrounded by ancient woodland\, with views of Moel Ddu. It’s a safe and restful retreat base to be immersed in nature while preparing for your Vision Quest. Included – is a well-equipped kitchen/dinning and a camp kitchen. Several bedrooms to share\, Plus land for camping.\nUnderfloor heating. Two bathrooms.\nWe move out to a base camp in the mountains for your solo time on the forth day\, then return to this lovely place for the final two days.\nThe group will live as a small community\, therefore you are asked to be responsible for yourselves. You provide your own food and cook for yourselves. (Closer to the start date we send the address list for you to plan meals together\, or alone.) The timing is GMT UK)

SUMMARY:Rite of Sacred Passage - Mountain Expedition\, Vision Fast\, Medicine Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:There’s a fire inside you—one that’s being smoldered by your everyday life. Day after day\, you’ve gone through the motions\, doing what’s needed but never touching the edge of who you could be. Each sunrise is blurring into the next\, and the spark that once made you feel alive is fading into a dull glow. You’re standing at a crossroads. This is your call to something greater—an initiation into what it truly means to be alive. This is more than an expedition\, it’s a rite of passage\, a journey into awe\, into the wilderness of the world and the wilderness within you. \nOver the course of three months of deep work culminating in a two week expedition to one of the most powerful landscapes on earth\, you’ll be initiated into a way of being that connects you deeply to the earth\, the cosmos\, and yourself. You’ll strip away the noise and the chaos\, face the primal truths of life\, and return to your core as a man rooted in power\, purpose\, and awe. Think of this as a return to ancestral tradition\, a way of being that is your birthright\, molded to fit the current times.

SUMMARY:Rites of Incorporation: Embodying the Vision and Living the Dream
DESCRIPTION:“Hold fast to dreams\, for if dreams die life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly.” \n– Langston Hughes \nThe time is now. Come closer. You are the acorn that becomes oak\, not willow or cedar. You have a uniqueness that is all your own. We need you. The world needs your gifts now. \nThis program is an invitation for all folks that are holding a potent vision or dream in their hearts that they long to embody and live out. It is open to all who have experienced a vision fast\, life transition\, or special event they want to mark or celebrate. It is for those who are timid\, terrified\, and thrilled\, perhaps all at the same time\, to move into incorporation and live their fullest truth\, lives\, and expression. \nFor decades we have seen folks go out on the land and come back with potent visions\, dreams\, and transformative changes that they yearn to integrate into their lives. Yet we know that the most challenging part of a rite of passage is the incorporation phase or the rite of return. \nComing back to a busy life\, loved ones\, and work after a life-altering experience can leave you in overwhelm\, grief\, or loneliness. Rarely\, at the pace of this modern-day society do we have the threads of an intact culture and community to hold us. This can leave us feeling further disjointed and isolated. It can not only feel daunting but impossible to fully embody your vision and live your dreams. \nThis program is designed to take incorporation to a deeper level. We will be taking the rites of incorporation through the lens of the Four Shields of Human Nature (a nature-based teaching) and nature itself to help teach\, guide\, and inspire you. \nWe will meet every morning for a daily check-in\, teachings\, and discussions. In the afternoon you will be given a suggested mission and have 2-3 hours solo time in nature. There will be times in the afternoon and evenings given for reflections and discussions. \nIt is our hope that you will come away from this program with new skills and a refreshed awareness of ways to work with your visions\, dreams\, and ideas and carry them forward into your lives. \nProgram Questions Contact: Silvia Talavera at silvia@lostborders.org

SUMMARY:The Elder’s Journey: The Four Shields of Elderhood for Women
DESCRIPTION:“We are the seeds of the tenacious plant\, and it is in our ripeness and our fullness of heart that we are given to the wind and scattered.” \nKahlil Gibran \nThroughout the ages\, elder women have enjoyed sitting in circle to weave the rich tapestries of their stories\, stories that continued to warm and inspire people across time and culture. \nWhat about us\, now\, in our time? As women in all stages of growing into our greater years\, there is a growing passion and a commitment to tell our own stories. We have children\, or we are childless\, we are single or we are partnered\, working or retired\, healthy or feeling the struggles of the body. Whatever stage of elderhood we find ourselves navigating it is important that we find our way\, with as much humor\, grace and dignity as possible. Death awaits us all\, and how we move through these years is of utmost importance. \nElderhood is an evolving experience that can be a ripening of our strengths rather than the dulling of our minds. From the words of social activist Maggie Kuhn\, “Old age is not a disease. It is a strength in survivor-ship\, triumph over all kinds of vicissitudes and disappointments\, trials and illness.” This speaks to aging as an extraordinary achievement. It is an opportunity to re-awaken the imagination towards new possibilities and a renewed spirit inspired by the lived wisdom acquired over the years. \nAs women ripen into the various stages of elderhood\, it may be time to re-map the landscape to make room for the emerging new perspectives of what it means to be an elder in today’s world. Through honoring the years of a life lived\, creating new meaning and imparting our gifts in service\, we move towards transformation and into a renewed vitality\, creativity\, and vision. This program is an invitation to open to what is needed to welcome the elders we are becoming \nProgram Overview: During our time together we will explore ways to deepen into a more conscious approach to how we can live as elder women in the world today. We will recall our personal stories\, life experiences and collected knowledge and discover ways to transform them into our wisdom and our medicine. \nWe will explore an ancient means of looking into the mirror of nature through the lens of the Four Shields (a nature based teaching) that will reflect and support the wisdom of the elders as a natural point for introspection and meaning . We will move through the 4 seasons\, the 4 directions and the stages of life.\nThese teachings and the earth itself will help to bring what is needed to your own particular stage of this rich new frontier. \nWe will meet together in an outdoor setting. Mornings will be taken up with check in\, teachings and discussions. And the afternoon or evenings will be solo time on the land (usually 2-3 hours )\, story telling\, and mirroring of the participant’s solo experience. Direct contact with nature is vital to the non-duality of our relationship and connection to nature. Every day will be a full exploration of this rich landscape we call elderhood. \nProgram Questions Contact Silvia Talavera at silvia@lostborders.org

SUMMARY:Open Desert\, Open Mind
DESCRIPTION:The very transparent\, unfixed\, yet alive quality of consciousness is its nature\, a bit like air around us. If you relax and allow this experience of unfixed knowing\, you will discover what Buddhists writers call the clear open sky of awareness. It is empty like space\, but unlike space it is sentient; it knows experience. In its true state\, consciousness is simply this knowing—clear\, open\, awake\, without color or form\, containing all things\, yet not limited by them. \nJack Kornfield\, The Wise Heart \nEureka Valley is a vast open space that stretches on for miles. Here the scale of desolate earth and expansive sky is something to behold. “Clear\, open\, awake\, without color or form\, containing all things\, yet not limited by them\,” writes Jack Kornfield. What better container\, what better mirror\, for an expansive state of mind than the vast open space of Eureka Valley? \n“Open Desert\, Open Mind” draws upon the wilderness-based tradition of the School of Lost Borders and the spiritual practice of sitting meditation to create a unique program for desert contemplatives. This is neither a typical SOLB program nor a typical meditation retreat\, but a blend of the two. The usual SOLB program invites participants to spend time alone on the land to access a deeper telling of their own story (while a wide-open desert setting naturally encourages an inner stillness that supports this deeper telling). A meditation retreat usually invites participants to move beyond the telling of stories in search of inner stillness (though often a deeper knowing of one’s own story is a gift found within that stillness). Here we will draw on both traditions. \nWhile this program draws some from Buddhist teachings\, no particular religious orientation or spiritual affiliation is asked of participants – nor is any excluded. That said\, comfort with a regular meditation schedule is recommended. \nProgram Overview \nDuring the first four days together\, we will weave together a tapestry of inner and outer exploration. Mornings will be a mix of sitting practice and council time for stories about what is coming up while sitting\, with each successive morning becoming more silent than those before. Afternoons will start with several hours alone on the land to invite clear open awareness\, inside and out. Late afternoons and evening will again be a mix of sitting and council\, including time to have our stories mirrored by others. The morning of the fifth day\, participants will be smudged out for a 24-hour solo fast in the desert. After a day of reentry\, we’ll then spend two full days hearing everyone’s story\, inviting a mirror of each story from both the desert expanse and our three guides. \nThis program is led by Scott Eberle and Silvia Talavera with Bettina Straub \nProgram Questions to Scott Eberle: seberle@sbcglobal.net

SUMMARY:Men's Wilderness Vigil
DESCRIPTION:Join Scott Lawrance (of Salish Sea Ecoretreats) and Mitch Brookman (of Veterans Rites) for a Men’s Vision Fast on the holy Mount Tuam on Saltspring Island in the Salish Sea. The core of the program is the four day fast within the School of Lost Borders. This will be an opportunity for all male identified persons to step outside of the matrix of their habitual identities and open to the Holy-in-Nature: not simply an opportunity to acknowledge significant life transitions but to also enter more fully into our entanglement with the world that our gifts be offered freely to our people\, both human and other-than-human. Youth (who may be adrift in this confusing time)\, adults and elders are all welcome.

SUMMARY:Healing Ancestral Trauma through Nature\, Ritual\, and Community
DESCRIPTION:When we heal our roots\, we open up new possibilities for our future. \n–Thomas Hubl \nAncestral Trauma \nWelcome to our investigation of ancestral trauma. We hold this as a sacred exploration of what\noften has no words. We trust in our human capacity to heal when given appropriate support\nand healthy relationship. \nPerhaps you are holding a question about what you might have inherited from your ancestors.\nYou may even be acutely aware of traumatized aspects of your past and the residues of fear\,\nanger\, or shame that get triggered in everyday living. You may have only a vague sense that\nsome issue is “bigger than just me in this present moment.” Whatever brings you to look at this\nprogram\, we welcome your inquiry and will support you in any way we can. \nThe stories in our lineage are part of who we are today\, but much of their influence remains\nunconscious. Our ancestors lived through the trauma of immigration\, painful historical events\nsuch as war\, the legacy of slavery\, Native American genocide and the Holocaust. It is common\nfor expressions of trauma\, such as family suicide\, depression\, addictions\, grief\, or physical\nhealth conditions\, to be passed down from generation to generation. \nWhy It Matters \nThe importance of this work cannot be underestimated. Insights of our time carry forward to\nnew generations\, empowering us to connect and repair with our families and communities. In\norder to gather our creative energies and follow a heart-felt path of service to others and the\nplanet\, we must uncover and befriend the entanglements of the past. \nCeremony\, Wild Nature\, and Community \nThe journey is both a deeply personal exploration as well as an inquiry into our historical and\ncollective wounding. Through immersion in wild nature\, within a safe community and\nsupported by ritual\, we can begin a process of reclamation and healing. We give ourselves time\nand space so that the invisible can become visible. As we bring light to the stories and emotions\nthat may lie dormant from “looking away\,” we liberate our natural aliveness\, inspiration\, and\ngratitude for ourselves and those who came before us. \nFlow of the Days\nThe format of the 7-day program is spacious\, to allow for profound insights to emerge. We will\nmeet daily in sharing and teaching councils\, followed by experiential reflection walks on the\nland and evening gatherings. The framework of the Four Shields will help us map out our\nexploration of ancestral wounding. Other rituals and the mirror of nature will enhance our time\ntogether. On Day 5\, participants will undertake a 24-hour solo with optional fasting. Upon\nreturn\, participants will share their stories and have them mirrored by the guides. Our last day\nfocuses on how to take the insights forward into daily life. \nProgram Questions Contact: Nancy Jane at njane615@icloud.com

SUMMARY:Dancing the Wheel: A Women's Ritual Immersion
DESCRIPTION:If you do the work….\nWe promise that this program will change your life \nYou will:\n– Liberate yourself from old ways of loving\n– Deepen your connection to the Sacred\n– Reclaim the wisdom of your body \nThe new story of being a woman in this world includes:\n– Embracing all parts of ourselves\, stepping into the fullness of our womanhood\n– Being part of healing the wounds of 1000s of years of patriarchy\n– Forging strong bonds with other women in sacred space \nWe see ritual as a technology to help us embody new ways of being we are calling in on our path of ever expanding wholeness. We send out a call to Spirit for support from the Otherworld. \nOur ancestors have been doing ritual since the beginning of time to mark the cycles of the sun\, moon and stars\, the cycles of life-death-life and life passages. \nWe gather on sacred land as a group of sisters to hold ritual for each other\, to support each other in becoming the fullest\, brightest\, most life-affirming version of ourselves we can be. \nThe specific rituals we co-create during this time remain in the Mystery. We will guide ritual processes that allow us all to move through the women’s wheel offering healing where needed for each woman. Our rituals will be grounded in the four elements – earth\, air\, fire and water and will be performed only with your full consent. \nWe incorporate a diverse range of healing modalities including breath-work\, eco-psychology\, dance\, song\, art\, ancestral healing\, personal myth making\, music and storytelling. \nThis is an encampment\, we will be camping for 4 nights\, eating our meals outside and not doing much showering! If lack of camping gear is a barrier to you joining us for this program please let us know and we will help you get here. \nThis 5-day program is Part 2 of the Seasons of Womanhood program a rites of passage program for women. If you did not participate in Part 1 online then you will receive the recordings of the six sessions on thirteen core women’s archetypes. This forms the basis for the ritual work we do in July.

SUMMARY:The Four Directions of a Queer Man: Forgiveness\, Apology & Reconciliation
DESCRIPTION:Queer people don’t grow up as ourselves\, we grow up playing a version of ourselves that sacrifices authenticity to minimise humiliation & prejudice. The massive task of our adult lives is to unpick which parts of ourselves are truly us & which parts we’ve created to protect us. \n—Alexander Leon \nepigraph in Last Call\, by Elon Green \nGathering in a natural setting – the high desert east of the Sierra Mountains – we will look to nature as our mirror\, as we aim to learn more deeply what it means to be “a man” and to be “queer.” Each of the four directions mirrors back something uniquely: call this “the four directions of a queer man.” The south\, where the sun is high in the sky\, is the place of the child—or for this week\, the queer child. In the west\, where the sun sets\, is the darkness of adolescence: where a queer man must navigate their “coming out”—however many times\, and during whatever stages of life. In the north\, the direction of night\, is the place of the empowered queer adult who knows how to survive and thrive in dark times. And in the east\, with its daily inspiration of the sunrise\, is the place of Queer Spirit. We will explore each of these four directions – a day at a time – culminating in an overnight solo on the fourth full day\, the day in the east. \nThrough the week\, we will weave in the themes of wounding\, forgiveness\, apology\, and reconciliation. We recognize that growing up queer in a homophobic world may have left each of us with old wounds and complicated ongoing relationships – with family\, community\, and even chosen friends. That has left many of us with lots of unfinished business. \nTo do this healing work\, we will draw upon an old hospice teaching. To complete a relationship at the end of life\, five things need be said: “Please forgive me”; “I forgive you”; “Thank you”; “I love you”; and “Goodbye.” One of the great opportunities we all have is to do this work now – to keep our relationships current rather than waiting for our final days. Otherwise\, we risk being weighed down by a lifetime of woundings\, angers\, and regrets. \nWe are calling in a circle of “GBTQ men.” Put another way: people who identify as “queer” and as a “man” – whatever those two words mean for you. We aim to be inclusive. If you would like to attend but don’t identify as a queer man\, please talk to us. \nProgram information: Enrollment is limited to 10. This program will be held in the Inyo/White Mountains east the Sierra Mountains and immediately east of Big Pine\, CA. We will start midday on the first day\, a Saturday\, and finish by noon of the last day. We will be camping together the entire week\, likely with a simple toilet set-up and no showers. More detailed logistical information will be sent out a few months before the course begins. \nProgram Questions Contact: Scott Eberle at scott@lostborders.org \nOf special note: We have raised scholarship money from previous participants for this particular program in an effort to make this year’s gathering more accessible to those with limited income. This program-specific fund can support participation for up to five men\, contributing to the cost of their tuition\, transportation\, and food. We are especially interested in drawing younger people and/or BIPOC people. Please contact Scott at the email above for more info.

DESCRIPTION:Join us in ceremony on the land with 5-10 other women of all ages living in beauty and rooting ourselves in safety\, allowing our hearts to open. The land offers us an experience of deep self care\, wisdom and compassion. We will have the opportunity to explore\, discover\, and renew our commitment to our own lives and life on Earth. The land and the ceremony heals\, strengthens and offers support. The places where we may feel disconnected\, unclear or bound can and do heal. We will have the opportunity to return as women living in ease\, with gentle humor and a sense of spaciousness. \nIn this 9 day experience you will be invited to let go and find what you are seeking. \nThe quest takes place in a community of supportive women. You will spend 3 days in preparation: physically\, emotionally\, mentally and spiritually. You will then have the opportunity to go out on the land in your chosen spot to spend 3 days and nights with only the company of the “other than human” world. You will not be alone! When you return you will share your story with the circle\, and it will be mirrored by your guides to deepen it and/or help you see different perspectives. Lastly you will contemplate and share how you will integrate your new wisdom into your lives\, how you will share your experience\, and how you will maintain this new level of awareness. We will celebrate!

SUMMARY:Christiane Frischmuth
DESCRIPTION:September 5-7\, 2024\nYour True Nature Coaching: Using age-old sacred practices\, enhanced awareness of self and other\, as well as natural spaces to support and challenge those you coach. \nAre you a coach or human relationship professional? Are you a leader who is using coaching skills? Are you wanting to access the profound wisdom of nature in your work? Do you want to build your own nature practice?\nNature offers the opportunity to experience questions and musings and discoveries in a completely new surrounding.\n~ Nature allows us to walk our talk\, choose a different path\, experience getting lost and finding our way again. In nature\, we can still ourselves and listen to our bodies\, hearts and souls.\n~ With nature as our insightful partner\, coaches and those using coaching as a way to support others\, can use age-old processes to support setting intention; create deep\, personal journeys of self-discovery; and facilitate meaningful re-entry and integration through coaching.\n~ Particularly during major transitions\, these rites of passage ~ some call ‘soul searching’ ~ can propel the coachee to new awareness\, new discovery\, and a natural sense of well-being.\nIf this is your first time attending a nature coaching program\, you will learn an adult development framework to orient those we coach to their life phases and transitions\, with clearer steps to move forward\, naturally.\nIf you have some experience with coaching in nature\, not only will you deepen your skills and application\, you will also have an opportunity to hone your mentoring skills using nature as your partner.\nYou will benefit personally as you immerse yourself in wild nature and are coached by your peers as well as enhance your coaching skills by coaching your peers with mentoring and guidance from Russ and Christiane. Bring your own life questions\, ponderings and reflections.\nJoin us for an in person Coaching Workshop with ICF CCEs. In this ICF CCE program\, learn to create and use sacred coaching and leading spaces and times as well as ancient processes for modern times to imbed in your leading/coaching style. Be in wild nature to re-member your own true nature and life story: September 5 (12 noon) through September 7\, 2024 (12 noon). \nTreat yourself to gorgeous\, wild nature while advancing your coaching and leading skills and competence. \nSkills you will learn during our time together:\n• Understand how to support your coachees in sharpening their awareness of self and other\n• Build confidence in working in natural surroundings\, including keeping you and other safe in nature\n• A process for coaching with nature as a partner\, including\n Shaping and clarifying intentions as you listen to self and other\n Creating a sacred pause and space to let the extraordinary emerge\n Generating ideas about self-ceremonies and practices that include nature\n Keeping others safe as they spend alone time in nature – their own purpose retreat\n Stepping into purpose\, and then processing discoveries upon return from their experience through listening\, mirroring and integrating nature\n Creating action steps and practices for integration and accountability\n• Apply nature-based practices in your own coaching to create sacred spaces and times that translate to regular rituals and practices in back every-day life\n• Hone your ICF Core Competencies of Coaching Presence\, Establishing Trust and Intimacy\, Active Listening\, Powerful Questioning\, Creating Awareness\, Planning and Goal Setting\, and Accountability \nColorful Colorado – Ridgway in the San Juan Mountains:\nLocated in beautiful Colorado wilderness and surrounded by untouched National Forest land\, Top of The Pines offers rustic camping with fire rings and an outhouse. We will be spending our time together here during the day. For those wanting to stay immersed in nature\, camp sites are available at the program site. You are welcome to come early and go for a walk or come a night before and stay a night longer to acclimatize. https://www.topofthepines.org\nFor those wanting a more comfortable accommodation\, Ridgway and Ouray offer hotels\, Airbnb and farm accommodation a 10-30 minute ride away. If you were to choose that option\, we would want you to be at the campsite with the group as early as possible to join in the pre program conversations and to stay as late as you like for campfire\, star gazing and story telling. Ridgway and Top of the Pines is one of the designated dark sites – reducing artificial light and allowing the night skies to show their true brilliance.\nParticipants will organize their own accommodation\, transportation and meals (2 lunches\, 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners). Christiane who lives in Ridgway can take care of camping reservations for those wanting to camp\, which we highly encourage. Camping with us at Top of the Pines allows being fully immersed in nature. We will book the entire campsite so we have it for ourselves during the program. We will provide a check list of what to bring and links to places to stay.\nRidgway has a small grocery store and beautiful Orvis hot springs to soak in. There are also restaurants\, should you wish to order food to go during the program. Most of you will fly into Montrose\, where you can shop at larger stores as well. Plan on staying longer or coming earlier. Ouray and Telluride are nearby\, festivals abound; hiking\, kayaking\, biking are numerous and stunning. If you come with your family or friends as part of your Colorado experience\, they will find lots to do during your time attending the program.\nThe season: September is a season of color and light\, of harvesting what we’ve planted\, of getting ready for the more reflective time of winter. It is a perfect time to nurture\, fertilize and plant anew. Here in Colorado\, the days are usually warm with cooler nights. Elevation at Top of the Pines is 8600 feet.\nProcess for True Nature Coaching: This 12-hour ICF CCE coaching program is highly experiential. You will experience the various practices yourself and then apply these practices as you coach one another. Your guides will model each practice before you try yourself. Receive 1 mentor coaching hour and an additional 4 resource credits as your request.\nContext for True Nature Coaching: What resources do you draw on as a leader/coach\, when you hear your colleagues\, coachees\, peers\, friends ~ or even yourself\, ask:\n• How do I create dedicated space/time for me?\n• How do I broaden my horizons?\n• Is it the time to make a big change in my life?\n• If I close something… what will open?\n• What legacy do I leave?\n• What is my true nature?\n• What is only mine to do?\n• I wonder what’s over the next hill…\n• Do I start/change my business or my role or my place in life?\n• How do I self-support my growth and development?\n• How do I integrate my insights from alone time? \nCoaching in a natural space supports deep connection\, profound meaning making\, and a unique client experience. When you coach in nature\, your coachee has space to venture forth from and to be welcomed back into greater clarity. Their time in nature takes on a special meaning with your coaching of clear intention and enacted beginnings and endings. As coach\, you allow awareness and guide supportive personal discovery that is essential for the process to be safe and impactful.\nResearch shows that being in nature enhances the positive emotions of joy\, awe\, optimism and courage. The energetic waves found in nature are those found in the human brain when in deep meditation. We slow down\, deepen our insights\, open to taking in what’s around us. We also connect to a broader purpose and to what is really emerging in us as a yearning or next step on our road.\nBeing in nature enables us to externalize our internal landscapes. Nature allows us to sharpen our senses and to have a more expansive\, deeper and slower experience. Nature doesn’t judge us or make meaning for us or nudge us in any way. Nature simply is. In relationship to nature\, we can test ourselves\, listen to ourselves and listen to what nature can tell us about ourselves ~ our life phases\, paths forward\, and next steps.\nWhen: September 5\, 2024 (noon)\, through September 7\, 2024 (noon). As an additional feature\, we can expand the program and create your individual post program experience. You can go for an additional solo walk and spend another night at the site. The participants may want to have a dinner together or go to the hot springs together on the night of September 7\, which can also be arranged. Just let us know.\nYou: Everyone is welcome regardless of physical ability\, fitness\, agility\, experience in nature. This program will meet you where you are from novice- to experienced-in-nature.\nCost: 895$ for early bird special up to May 15\, 2024 and 995$ after the deadline. We require a minimum of 4 participants to make this program work.\nWant to save money? Register prior to May 15\, 2024 to receive a $100 early-registration discount. In order to make this program as affordable and as good of an individual fit as possible\, we will be charging only for the program design\, preparation\, facilitator travel and facilitation and the campsite for the program. All other costs will be up to you and your preferences.\nTo learn more (no obligation) and to register\, contact Christiane christiane@gfconsulting.org\nPlanning travel: The closest airports are Montrose (30 minutes away) and Grand Junction (90 minutes away). Durango is 2 hours away. Feel free to email and ask questions.\nWhat to bring: Dress casually and in layers as we will be inside and outside\, in various weather conditions. Bring sturdy shoes and a jacket/hat for cool evenings. (Zip code 81432) Bring a journal\, pen and water bottle. The venue neither sells nor serves alcohol\, however\, you may bring alcohol onsite for your own or for shared consumption. We will provide further logistical details upon your registration.\nCancellation policy: Due to payments for the campsite\, materials and logistics and plane tickets\, we must have a cancelation policy in place. Prior to May 15\, a full refund is offered. After May 15\, we are unable to offer a refund. We will decide on May 15 if we have the minimum number of participants required to make the program work.

SUMMARY:Adult Vision Fast in Death Valley
DESCRIPTION:In want of deeper meaning? There is not always a clear path. Longing for a change in one’s life\, it can be challenging to take the leap. Knowing when you yourself have transitioned from one life stage to the next\, is sometimes elusive. At these times\, it can be hugely transformative to enlist community support\, devote time for self-reflection\, and consult the ageless voice of wild nature. \nThis modern-day vision fast engages one’s entire being\, requiring each person to strongly claim their whole Self. It is a challenging\, nourishing\, insightful time in the expansive desert\, where a trained team will create a strong container in which you can claim the transformation and discovery you wish for yourself. You will be joined by a circle of people from varying backgrounds and given a chance to be listened to deeply. \nThe Adult Vision Fast is inclusive of all genders. Different than our gender specific fasts\, topics—and therefore learnings—about gender and between genders are common. It is a ten-day\, journey of Nature\, Spirit\, and Community\, including three days and nights in which participants fast in solitude. The initial four days are focused on your physical\, psychological\, and spiritual preparation for your fast. The middle days are devoted to your vision fast. The final days help you intentionally integrate your experience in the desert in order to move forward in your life back home. \nWhen you know there is something more being asked of you from this life\, when you are seeking vision\, when you are clear that you need to make a change or redefine who you are\, then a vision fast can be right for you. \nGuided by Rob Miller and Kinde Nebeker

SUMMARY:Embody Feral Female Ferocity
DESCRIPTION:A Wild Yoga Online Immersion\, Oct 24 – Dec 12 \nDates: Tuesdays Oct 24\, 31\, Nov 21\, 28\, Dec 5\, and 12 \nTimes: 11 am MT (six two-hour sessions) \n+ 1 hour personal session with Rebecca Wildbear. \nWe will reawaken to this natural power for our well-being and the love of our threatened Earth by asking the land\, our body\, and our dreams to teach us how to be fierce. We will attune to anger’s signals\, which are sane reactions to structural discrimination. We will seek to unveil power imbalances and listen to the voices not being heard. We’ll honor our feelings\, remember fierce beings we encountered in our dreams\, and imagine what they could bring to our life. \nFerocity is natural and necessary for creatures in the wilderness. Snakes and scorpions act boldly to protect themselves\, especially when threatened by someone higher on the food chain. Yet the dominant human culture discourages nature\, women\, and marginalized communities\, etc.\, from being fierce\, even when they want to defend themselves or protect nature. Those who develop feral ferocity become aware of patriarchal power’s subtle and crude dynamics and respond to injustice from their wild imaginations and with deep empathy for the natural world \nNotice how humanity treats nature. Attune to the everyday violence that is normalized. By developing feral ferocity\, you can restore your instinct to protect all life. Men and women can become allies who honor and embody female ferocity and defend the Earth.

SUMMARY:Trebbe Johnson Canoe Journey
DESCRIPTION:Wherever we are\, the place that holds us reaches out to touch our own life: what we’ve been through\, what we long for\, what frightens us\, what gives us joy. Our places on Earth also call to us to get more involved with them—to immerse ourselves in their history\, their hurts\, their beauty. Often\, our own preoccupations are so dominant that we forget to pay attention to this constant exchange of invitations and impulses. On this journey through Labyrinth Canyon we open up to the dialogue between our own hearts and the land and water that hold us.\n8 days\, 45 miles of canoeing\, daily writing and delicious food.

SUMMARY:Stories of the Canyon with David Abram
DESCRIPTION:With each fresh meander of the river\, the bustle of civilization fades into the many-voiced stillness of the canyon – into the sunlight glinting off a heron’s wing\, and the limitless eloquence of a world that exceeds all our knowing. We’ll glide into elemental conversations between our bodies and the breathing earth\, entering improvisational exchanges with other creatures and plants and clouds\, with the silken skin of the water\, with the invisible wind and the echoing cliffs. \nIn the course of this week we’ll explore the mysteries of perception and the magic of sensory experience: waking our creaturely senses\, loosening our animal eyes and ears and muscles from the constraints imposed by societal assumptions and over-civilized ways of thinking. We’ll glide into elemental conversations between our bodies and the breathing earth\, entering improvisational exchanges with other creatures and plants and clouds\, with the silken skin of the water\, with the invisible wind and the echoing cliffs. Spontaneous\, expressive movement may well play some part in whatever mischief we get up to. Listening\, laughing\, extending our bodily imagination into the hidden depths of the animate terrain\, we’ll paddle our way into a more fluid and lasting rapport with the more-than-human earth dreaming all around us.

SUMMARY:Transforming Ancestral Trauma through Nature\, Ritual\, and Community
DESCRIPTION:This program provides an opportunity to consciously explore how the shadows of the past remain undigested in our personal and collective lives. To what degree are we aware of their impact on our present day experiences? How does our behavior reflect some trauma or dysfunction from the past? What resilience and wisdom have we inherited through our lineage? \nThe stories of our ancestors are part of who we are today\, but much of their influence remains unconscious. Through immersion in wild nature\, supported by ritual and safe community\, we can begin a process of healing. When we explore and bring awareness to what is unintegrated in our ancestral line\, we create more presence and more vitality in our life that helps with the challenges we face. The journey is both a deeply personal exploration as well as an inquiry into our collective trauma. \nHistorical events\, such as war\, the Holocaust\, slavery\, the genocide of Native Americans\, and the Depression\, intersect with the traumas in our lineage and are carried across generations. Through awareness and the courage to face the past\, we can bring light to the shame\, fear\, mistrust\, numbness\, grief\, and other feelings that perhaps lie dormant from “looking away.” \nThe format of the 7-day program is spacious\, to allow for delicate insights to emerge. We will meet daily in sharing councils\, with teachings followed by experiential reflection walks on the land\, and then further councils in the evenings. The framework of the Four Shields will support and help us map out our exploration of ancestral wounding. Other rituals and practices will enhance our time together. On day 5\, participants will undertake a 24-hour solo with optional fasting. Upon return participants will share their stories and have them mirrored by the guides.
