Biographical Info
I have been leading and co-leading wilderness vigils since my first Fast in Baja with Larry Hobbs and Bette-Lu Krauss in the early 2000s.
For the last several years, Tara Souch and I have been leading Fasts on the Buddhist retreat lands on Saltspring Island in the Salish Sea.
To this work, I bring a lifelong engagement with poetry, education, psychotherapy, and meditation. Central to our work is the idea that it is not about "personal development", but rather service to the Wild, to the Sacred in Nature both inner and outer. As Martin Shaw puts it, we are "full in the knowledge that the earth may well ask as much or more from (us) than anything (we) expected to benefit from."
