Trebbe has spent many years tracking the bonds between myth and psyche, nature and people, beauty and sorrow. In 2009 she founded Radical Joy for Hard Times, a global community of people dedicated to finding and making beauty in the wounded places of the world.

Before founding Radical Joy for Hard Times, she guided wilderness rites of passage programs for 25 years through her business, Vision Arrow and with School of Lost Borders, Kamel Karawanen (Switzerland), and Animas Valley Institute. She has guided hundreds of questers into solo journeys ranging in length from 20 minutes to four days and taking place in a range of beautiful and hurt places, from a nature preserve in Pennsylvania to a clear-cut forest in British Columbia, from the Utah Canyons to western Ireland to the Sahara Desert.
Trebbe is the author of The World Is a Waiting Lover: Desire and the Quest for the Beloved and 101 Ways to Make Guerrilla Beauty, and Radical Joy for Hard Times: Finding Meaning and Making Beauty in Earth's Broken Places. Her articles and essays about people's emotional and spiritual relationship with nature have appeared in Sierra, The Nation, Orion, Harper's, Spirituality and Health, and other magazines, and she is a Consulting Editor and frequent contributor to Parabola
An explorer of both inner and outer worlds, Trebbe speaks four languages, has camped alone in the Arctic wilderness, written about the spiritual path of unrequited love, and worked as an artist's model, a streetsweeper in an English village, and an award-winning multimedia producer. She lives in rural northeastern Pennsylvania, a region currently under exploitation by natural gas companies.
