Becoming a Member of the Wilderness Guides Council is an opportunity to be part of a vibrant network of guides, organizations, aspiring guides, and supporters of the work. Do you believe in the vital importance of re-introducing contemporary, nature connected rites of passage and other earth-honoring ceremonies into today’s world? If so, we would love to meet with you, network, and support your programs.

Membership Levels

We have several membership levels that reflect the different reasons why people or organizations join the Wilderness Guides Council. For a complete list of benefits per level see below. Individuals that can’t afford the low end sliding scale of membership can email the Netkeepers and we will discuss your needs.

Guide Bio Feature

Post your guide biography on the Wilderness Guides Council website to further build your community and help potential program participants to find you.

Program Listings

List your program in our online program directory. It will also be pinned on our global programs map so people can find you by location, as well as by your program type.

List your books and publications

We do our best to help share the books, publications, music, artwork of our members. As a member you will be able to list links to your work on the site.

Access to Members Only Resources

Our members resource library provides you access to additional videos and writings to support bringing your work to the world.

Mentorship

Gain access to the WGC Mentor Directory that encourages networking in connecting youngers and elders to support guides in training.

Gathering Discounts

Receive a discount for our annual in-person gathering for current members.

Circles on the Mountain

Receive free online PDFs of all issues of Circles on the Mountain. This is the annual publication of the WGC and is a collection of writings from our members. The first issue was published in

Newsletters & Updates

Receive email updates and newsletters to stay up to date with the organization and our online and in person events. We also have a help wanted/help needed section in our newsletter to help programs and guides find one another.

Participate in Community Councils

Members who wish to engage more deeply in the community can be part of a council circle. The councils help guide the direction and operations of the organization. Councils also create opportunities for specialized networking.

Support Membership Scholarships

Solo Guide Membership

$75 – $150 sliding scale

For individuals guiding wilderness rites of passage or similar nature-based programs, or are in training to be a guide.

You are eligible to list your bio, organization name and any programs that you are offering on our website. Personal publications may also be listed. Membership provides mentorship and networking with fellow guides.

Organizational Membership

$200 – $700 sliding scale

For organizations who are offering wilderness rites of passage or similar nature-based programs, and who want to support the WGC on a higher level.

Supporting organizations are listed on the WGC homepage as partner organizations We offer two levels of organizational membership:

RACCOON: $200-$350

Covers 1 organizational membership including five guides & all associated benefits/gathering discount for five.

RAVEN: $450-$700

Covers 1 organizational membership including ten guides & all associated benefits/gathering discount for ten.

Friend Membership

$35 – $75 sliding scale

Friend memberships are for people who are not guides, don’t intend to become guides or have retired from guiding. Friend members are supporters of the work and bring their heart and energy to the organization.

You will have access to WGC specific resources, publications, emails and newsletters. You may join members only calls and events and enjoy a discount for the WGC gathering.
